       In light of the recent Supreme Court rulings, is anyone else out there, who’s American, feeling a little less patriotic about the upcoming July 4th holiday? It’s hard for me to be all “rah-rah” with the fireworks and everything this year when I feel like our country’s backsliding on honoring our values of equality and justice for all. I will enjoy the cooking and eating on the holiday. But that’s about it. Speaking truthfully.

       I'm probably celebrating harder than I have in years. Not specifically because #SCOTUS removed some racism from the laws though that's good. I'm doing it because I have kids that need to see stuff blow up, flags flying, and people celebrating living in America. People need to realize it can get MUCH worse and I don't think complaining online will push us in the right direction.
