       What the absolute fuck is it with people trying to drag American tipping culture into Australia?The Sydney Morning Herald published an article about hotel stays -- plainly NOT US-specific -- and includes gems like "It’s customary to leave something for the housekeepers at the end of your stay but the considerate guest will leave a little something each day as the housekeeping staff are often on rotation."Either they're just mindlessly republishing offshore content with no editorial view to the local market, or they're trying to slowly turn Australia into a hybrid model wherein we have one of the highest minimum wages in the world PLUS a tipping culture.
