       Some quick Mastodon tips:If you are using the web interface:Settings->Appearance->Web Interface has an advanced web interface which is pretty nice!You also likely want cropping images *off* & there are other useful options in there.The settings icon next to notifications is where you can turn the notification sounds off.If you click on a hashtag, it's the same as searching for it, & any time you have a hashtag up, you can hit the + at the top to subscribe to it.When attaching an image, make sure to hit edit, &add a description. Some people can't see the images, but can read them!If you are on a phone, use a 3rd party Mastodon app, not the official one. Unless anything's changed, it's pretty much the worst one to use.Remember the cw button if you want to put a warning on your post, say for nsfw content.Mastodon isn't pushing things to you. Follow people, & put relevant hashtags in your posts, so people can find them!You can block whole instances if you want to...

       @lccmv No problem.Bear in mind that you can pin and unpin and move around things a bit on the advanced web interface.But there are also apps you can use to access it. I'm not the most familiar with them, but if you go over here:https://joinmastodon.org/appsThere's a section for third party apps. For a computer, you could just click desktop, and try out some of the apps there, like Sengi or Whalebird.

       @SweetAIBelle Thank you for your reply.I won't use those apps because every one of them is some build of Chrome dressed up to look like an app, and I won't use Chrome. I already have a browser and was hoping to find some alternative way of logging in.

       @lccmv Most, maybe. Looking at Tuba, it looks like a GTK app written in Vala.As far as accessing through the web, I don't really know of alternatives other than switching between basic and advanced mode.I'd imagine you could use browser extensions to customize it a bit, like tampermonkey and stylus...
