@nasser I feel this is a good thing. Because Google/Reddit/Twitter shit their beds does not mean that people won't be able to communicate, create and share. We've been doing this for millenias, and we don't need them. I'm just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the shitshow.

@nasser And that's why I've been self-hosting for the last few years. Precisely to get some sort of alternative to the time where everything went full proprietary

@csolisr @nasser self hosting is the usual response but not an adequate solution. This is evident in the fact that services have accrued and can easily retain this stranglehold. We need to shift from thinking about servers/services and how they are run to something which doesn't require servers as we know them and where infrastructure is provided using an economic model favouring individuals rather than centralised systems.Probably peer-to-peer so learn about, use & help #p2p projects.

I was very bullish on the #P2P concept until Bauwens got redpilled.

@lori @csolisr @nasser I don't know Bauwens history. Years back I looked hard and found one project that stood out against all others, ethically, technically and economically. It still does.I've stuck with #SafeNetwork despite technical setbacks because they stuck by their values all the way, refused to compromise despite the rush of VC money into the space, and are still community owned as things are now coming together technically, hopefully this year.
