       I’m hesitant to watch the #WheelOfTimeSeries for one reason:  that’s not what those characters look like.This has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with this being a very large fantasy world with people that have existed purely in my mind, and they just don’t look like that.And I know that if I watch it, those familiar “faces” in my mind will be replaced with those of the actors, and, while it might sound silly, that saddens me a bit.

       I would probably feel differently if I had read them years ago, and maybe if I was just starting off and didn’t care about spoilers.I’ll watch it anyway, both because I love the story and think it would be super cool to see some things…And I’m trying to get at least one of my daughters into it enough where they’ll want to start reading it, too.

       @LukeF Worth noting: The show does change some things from the books. Rand & co are aged up a bit, some people and events are a bit different. Think of it as one of the other turnings of the wheel, not exactly like the one we read about in the novels. Allow it that freedom and you will enjoy it much more.
