OK, friends...I'm still trying to find a good instance-fit so I'm asking for recs. @ElizabethLeeCo SDF (the instance I am on) is the best all around instance. SDF has been around for decades as a unix shell host and the moderation is great, and there are many cool people.

I think part of the reason I'm having such a hard time finding a good instance fit is I'm a nerd who likes science but doesn't particularly like sci-fi, anime or gaming; I love horror & birding (but usually not at the same time); & I have jokes...just SO many dry jokes that my family & friends don't understand.
