Watching Marvel stuff has felt like homework for a while. After Thor 4 and Quantumania I felt considerable less motivation to keep up with the interwoven narrative. I guess Secret Invasion is as good a point to get out as any, especially considering this 👇

I also had much of my entertainment sucked out of Marvel superhero stuff after realizing that - with all their power - the heroes only defend the status quo and hardly challenge it. Once that became clear it was impossible to not see how conservative these movies are.

@malteengeler When my kids moved from superheroes into anime, I was really struck by how differently the latter deal with power and relationships.Where the US superhero stuff is all good vs evil, male and violent in favor of the status quo, anime is more chaotic and complex- and more interesting as a result.

@mig Andor was fantastic yes. It feels simultaneously out of sync with the tone of Star Wars in general and yet oddly in universe.

@malteengelerTrue.Falcon and the Winter Soldier tried to be a little different. Didn't seem to receive much love, though. People love their little fantasy of one chosen man who can singlehandedly save them from all their troubles.

@malteengeler I really used to like batman because he was only human and the atmosphere of the movies got me...but...he's just a capitalist that loves leather and gimmicks.. The Phoenix joker movie really finished batman for me.
