I don't know how to feel about the situation in Russia. One on hand, it's funny seeing the Russian military challenged and disrespected in this way (if this isn't a coordinated ploy of some sort) but I'm not sure success on Yevgeny's part, whatever that would look like, would be an improvement for the world.

@aj neither actor is a good actor and it's likely to result in more civilian deaths when it's said and done. If it results in the two parties destroying each other and preventing global nuclear catastrophy (either via overt action of nuclear war or destruction of the nuclear power plant), is that so bad? It's hard to say. If civilian death is avoided and it's only two fascist armies fighting to the death, what's so bad about that?

@misanthrope@kolektiva.social I'll just keep hoping for the best possible outcome: their mutual destruction with minimal suffering to those not responsible followed by replacement by a less corrupt and more pro-human rights government. That just feels very unlikely.

@aj although, I'd argue more for self-governance over another centralised government. But as long as capitalism prevails, that will be highly unlikely, as you note.
