@dick_turpin When you could only get a mortgage for 3.5 times your salary but you could buy a three bedroom house with that.

@OldGitPhil It all went downhill when ACCESS hit the UK, and people learned you could have what you can't afford.

@dick_turpin Whatever happened to responsible lending? I guess banks don't need to worry about it now because they know governments will always bail them out.

@OldGitPhil Exactly. Back in the day, the only 'credit' you could get was from Pearl Loans. I remember hiding behind the sofa with my mum. "Ssh, keep quiet, and he'll go." look at it today. "Can't afford that jumper? No problem, use Klarna, three easy payments." the problem with society today is we no longer say "𝗡𝗢!" to people; it's all "How can we give them what they want?" regardless of cost, damage or impact. #LeSigh
