So I pitched my dad some thematic ideas for his undergrad #SFF literature class, and he's asked me to draft a syllabus.Theme is "Looking Forward"--how do SF writers imagine the future of humanity?Units are currently:- High-tech (space or computers)- Post-apocalyptic (and we're stuck with it)- SolarpunkI'm looking for short story recommendations in these categories. Preferably not by straight white cis dudes; leaning toward written after 1980.Thanks!

I recognize that all three of these categories can be post-apocalyptic, but they've got very different approaches to the apocalypse.High-tech: let's escape to space and/or solve/exacerbate society's problems with computers! (Cyberpunk goes here)Post-apocalyptic proper: welp, we live here nowSolarpunk & related: Here's how humanity can get its shit together without running away from our problemsbut here's the big question: which one is WALL-E? (I think high-tech if I really had to choose)
