       Closed protocols will be absorbed by open ones and rendered irrelevant over time. That time has been happening for the last 20 years. That means it's happening right now. Meta adopting or not adopting #ActivityPub wil not materially affect this ongoing process. Meta, Twitbook et al will not change the outcome. All closed source is #MySpace. If we accept that this is what's happening, doesn't it lower the angst over corporate embrace and exterminate tactics? That window of opportunity has passed.
