I agree that it's hard to imagine being that foolish, but, and I have no proof for this, it's just my interpretation of what is written, I do not think we can fully comprehend the mind of those pre-Christ. God is clear that he made a new covenant, and wrote His laws into their hearts. If we are part of that new covenant, then we are blessed with something they were not. just a thought.

i think some people take it too far. I can make strong arguments for why other translations are good. I personally read one i find easy to read, but i cross reference multiple when the verse is "sticky" shall we say. But some of the NIV stuff I've seen, it's impossible to say it was written for any other reason than to be extremely subversive. Completely changing the entire context of what they wrote.

Yeah, its good to read several translations. Not a hard and fast rule, but KJV for NT and NASB for OT. Few years ago, I heard a pastor read Isaiah CH 1 from the NASB aloud and I thought that translation went super hard

there are a lot of kjv only people. anyway, i'm not any "only" translation. There's extremely strong evidence to suggest that if I were an "only" anything, it'd be the LXX, because that's what Jesus used. and even then, I think there are some "errors"

Well said. I mainly use ESV, but always read multiple and reference original translations for 'sticky' as well and it is the advice I give.I find the idea of a 'true' translation foolish. It conflates the Word of God with the Bible.

Biblehub is easy. Has full concordance with footnotes from other dictionaries.The word gentile is ethnos in Greek and goyim in Hebrew. In youngs, it is only the word "nation".
