       I probably have an unpopular opinion on Reddit’s action of charging an API fee for 3rd party apps. Reddit is a company and can do what they want. This is a big factor in the uptick of open protocols and services like Mastodon.I think original founder Alexis Ohanian’s heart is generally in a good place. I enjoyed his talk at Google in 2013, mostly about his charitable work, and it was great talking with him afterwords.
