I’m sipping my iced tea, freshly showered + recovering from our outside work. I think I’ve avoided accumulating ticks or mosquito bites (thanks to excessive amounts of insect repellent) but time will tell. We’ve made a unanimous decision to get mulching done BEFORE June in the future. Other projects can wait, but by now it’s a struggle to get around and behind our plants, especially the hydrangeas. For now I will happily join Slacker Saturday, already in progress. 😉

@Sharonbw Tuck your socks in. Insect repellent doesn't work on me for ticks. I'm such a tick-magnet I have to tuck my socks in to go through the garden center.

@Rasta I always tuck in my socks. Now you’ve made me paranoid about garden centers. Is there no place safe?!

@Sharonbw My country acre has never had a tick. Also, we never had deer, until they started swimming across the harbour and entering the yard. Last week I had my first tick on my property in 40 years. Off my property, I get them often in public parks with gravel pathways. You don't need to be in grass. 5/8 ticks came from gravel or hard surface, including my friend's deck!
