       @jennycohn Jennifer, is there somewhere else I can read your words? First time Beacon attempt, but the moving bars are too distracting--I had to close the page. :(I think having a store to support the paper is a great idea. But I would never know if I wanted to subscribe--if too many things are flashing, popping up, moving, I leave a site. (I mention this to you as I went there to read your words.        @jennycohn My first thought when reading about the abuse in protestant churches: because the Baptists and other protestant sects aren't as centrally organized as the Catholics, a pastor that has abused can much more easily just find a job at another church the next county over. (Like rogue cops.)It's quite possible that abuse reported by the SBC and the Texas paper a few years ago is merely the tip of the iceberg and dwarfs that committed by Catholic priests.

       @jennycohn 60% of reported paedophiles are religious clergy (30%) & lay clergy (30%). Another 30% are close family members and 10% are youth workers such as sports coaches & music teachers. Most crimes committed by clergy against children are on church property. If you really want to protect children the churches need to be closed down and their activities outlawed. Drag Queens & Transgender people are not recorded as operating International Paedophile Networks such as christianity or islam.

       @jennycohn I’ve long wondered about the timing of the US Catholic Church’s public PR campaign to outlaw abortion. Chronologically it seems to emerge on the heels of the first big revelations of sexual abuse of children.Is there a causal link?Was there a decision to “change the topic” away from child abuse to focus on abortion?What does your research show?
