       @statmonkey @jrm4 @StillIRise1963 @Hey_Beth @MHowell @CStamp Until banished for life from both I spent 3 years on Twitter & Facebook debating with people who were pro war, pro gun, pro military, anti lgbtq, anti vax etc. I intentionally followed these posts to present an alternative argument & disrupt misinformation. I like Mastodon but I’m largely preaching to the converted here.

It presents an American society where books have been personified & outlawed & "firemen" burn any that are found. Fahrenheit 451 was written by Bradbury during the Second Red Scare & the McCarthy era, who was inspired by the book burnings in Nazi Germany & by ideological repression in the Soviet Union.

       @jennycohn 60% of reported paedophiles are religious clergy (30%) & lay clergy (30%). Another 30% are close family members and 10% are youth workers such as sports coaches & music teachers. Most crimes committed by clergy against children are on church property. If you really want to protect children the churches need to be closed down and their activities outlawed. Drag Queens & Transgender people are not recorded as operating International Paedophile Networks such as christianity or islam.
