Reminder: after the initial investment to reload ammunition, the cost per round is considerably lower. Gathering spent brass from public shooting ranges is an excellent way to further cut those costs.I have a 5 gallon bucket of 5.56/.223 brass, and another of 9mm, that will outstrip my ability to ever be able to find the time to reload them. Also, us helps to cut the costs of your ammo overall.

The downside is that depending on your proclivity for extremes, you may end up having uncomfortable conversations with your spouse regarding subsequent purchases in support of your new hobby, which will come and go in waves.I might know a guy with something like 70+ pounds of smokeless powder, thousands of projectiles, and tens of thousands of primers in their various sizes and types, as well as dies for calibers that they no longer own firearms to use them to reload for...

@joenarcoleptic In NZ, suppressors are not regulated (they are hearing protection, after all). My Ruger 10/22 and Winchester Wildcat with suppressors and subsonic .22 are as quiet as an airgun.
