       #TIL the Alien RPG system, which I surprisingly really enjoyed! I've never watched the movies and am generally not a fan of horror, but our Numenera GM couldn't make it this week and we decided to pivot to Alien RPG for a one-shot. I'm glad I said yes! It's got a very cool stress mechanic that ratchets up tension as the game continues, adding to the desperate, frantic feel of the setting.        @nicole It was fun, and surprisingly easy to jump into for a one-shot! I feel like I understand it better after three hours than I do #numenera after twenty-one… (though I still have Stanley Tucci cast in my head for Divine Nex…)I enjoy the session title. 😉

       @leah SAME. I don't know, Numenera just never clicked for me. Even now that I'm comfortable with the rules, I still do feel like they're in the way of telling the story. The Year Zero engine just gets out of the way for the most part.
