@nicole @apolaine Friends and Star Wars were my go-to background media when I was doing an art/design prep course forever ago before design school. I was working 30+ hours a week, going to school full-time, and working on freelance and portfolios.I managed to mostly miss Friends when it was first aired, but the box-set was perfect for (predictable) audio patter for late night assignments without having to actually watch. Built-in breaks for the occasional physical joke too.

@stefan I made the jump from Evernote (19,000 files and notes) to a combination of #Obsidian and #DEVONthink. Still using that combo two years later. DT has the ease for capture/organization of external sources that EV did, and I use deep links to add reference to my Ob notes. I’m a graphic designer so deal with a lot of images, and purposely don’t store those in Ob. I do use an attachment folder when I do have files in Ob to wrangle the visual clutter. But workflows can be very personal.

@dcbuchan That’s a good point about cross-platform compatibility, though my personal setup is fully fruit-based so it hasn’t been an issue. I use #zotero as well as a reference manager for papers, though admittedly index the folder with #devonthink and then use deep links there for consistency.@nicole, weren’t you testing out Zotero for your #ttrpg PDF links? I can’t remember where you landed with that!

@nicole If it makes you feel any better, I’ve had people in Canada ask me that… at a time where I had never lived outside of Canada.(And then when I lived outside of Canada, people had no problem placing my accent, and called it “exotic” which still cracks me up to this day. Once even had a client interrupt a presentation to ask if I was Canadian…)

I've been trying a number of different #ttrpg games outside of #dnd, and one of the one-shots we've picked up is from the ALIEN franchise with the Year Zero Engine. Have been really enjoying both the mechanics and storytelling elements that the system affords… but it's also my first time playing a character with a level of player-vs-player. Even if right now it's just interrupting each other in character… OOC I'm incredibly apologetic for interrupting. Didn't expect that to be so hard!
