       There's talk of Spider-Qwen being a Trans girl and the comments have every bit the vibe of "The original Little Mermaid wasn't Black!" and "There were no Black and Asian people in the Tolkien universe!"        @ValerieMars @Terra The thing is, outside of the loudmouth minority, most people LIKE when there's new and different media. American audiences have seen cis het white people almost exclusively writing, lead acting, and directing our shows for over a century. Diversity sells - not just to the more diverse population, but even to the cis het white population. They find our stories new, creative, and engaging in ways that the 735th cis het white superhero isn't.
