@dibi58 James Kunstler is the origin of that quote. He wrote several good books on urban planning, in spite of turning into a right wing nutjob in his old age. If you haven't read "Geography of Nowhere," I recommend it.

@dibi58 I stopped reading Gail because she got very over the top and made some very wrong predictions. (As I myself did back in the Oil Drum days, I do confess.) We thought the Seneca cliff was a lot closer than it actually was. Ironically, it's closer now, and nobody at all will even entertain the idea of peak oil.
