       It seems to me that all too frequently the #Mastodon blocking paradigm shares many of the same unfair, negative attributes as Dean Wormer's "double secret probation" applied to the Delta fraternity in "Animal House".

       @lauren Just scrolled back through your day, because I should be doing some end-of-term academic work... IF I work at all today. Anyway, what a mess. Kafka indeed.I figure I've been unfollowed a bit. Didn't think about being blocked entirely off instances but it'd be nice to know, whether to appeal, or just fix an actual goof with an edit.

       @lauren Unfair? Cut the horseshit, lady. I've got their disciplinary files right here. Who dropped a whole truckload of fizzies into the swim meet? Who delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner? Every Halloween, the trees are filled with underwear. Every spring, the toilets explode.

       @lauren @RadicalRuss Have to be careful inferring gender from names. Kim (Stanley Robinson) is "he" too. There is quite a list of names that can be either gender.
