       most guys try to be something that women will like.i'm 40.i do what i want. i almost completely ignore what women want. i have to figure out my own life. maybe a woman will figure into it. i'm 100% assuming i will have to sort something out without one though.

       @thor "i almost completely ignore what women want" - There is your first misconception of marriage. When you are married you can't ignore what she wants. In fact, you will likely have to deny yourself to give her what she wants. You can't just do whatever you want anymore. Everything you want to do has to factor her into it.

       @quilnux i'm not in a marriage. and it is far from a given that i will be in one. i have friends who are in them. they chose that and this is fine. they do that.

       @quilnux it is not that i'm against compromise. it's more that my nature isn't conducive toward that. as much as i'd wish to compromise, i can't deliver on it.
