@grammargirl Eligibility? I just keep going every 6 months, and they keep giving me the shot. I didn't even realize there were eligibility concerns. For the record, I'm mid thirties. It can't hurt to get the shot, no matter one's age. Well, in theory it *could* hurt, for immune-compromised people or something. But you know what I mean.

@grammargirl I'm all in favor of vaccinations; I've recently heard that the continual march of new variants means that we won't get an effective antibody boost from the current boosters (preventing infection), but it may "remind" our long term immunity how to stop a systemic infection. That's worth doing in older folks, since the immune system seems to have a faltering memory just like the... oh what's the word...?

@grammargirl Here in the UK, when they were first available my GP surgery ("family doctor"?) sent me a message automatically as I'm in an at-risk group. I made an appointment within five minutes.The three subsequent times I was eligible (and very keen) I had nothing to go by except the news.

@grammargirl Umm nope. Damn vaccine killed my friend. His worked mandated it so he got it. That night he was in the hospital and within 48 hours he was dead. Another friends wife it caused swelling in her brain and paralyzed her.Caused my wife's ANA to go into over drive.Neighbor who is a 26 year old nurse had a stoke 2 days after taking the vaccine.So big nope for us.

@omnipotens @grammargirl There were several injuries in the ANG unit I’m apart of after they mandated it and threatened us to be kicked out if we refused. Two people had major seizures and two others had hospitalized for brain swelling. Those are just the ones I personally know the individuals. These are healthy individuals in their early to mid twenties who are physically fit. I doubt those got reported properly.

@grammargirl In the In UK very few people are offered boosters. Eligibility is extremely limited: 75 yrs & over, older care home residents & 5 yrs & over with a weakened immune system. But as well as these groups, those with diabetes, obesity, 60 yrs+, high-blood pressure & more also have potential worse outcomes with Covid.

@scooter @grammargirl The worse was my friend I met a linux fest. We stayed in contact for years. His work mandated it so he went and got it. Within a few hours he wasn't feeling well. He went to the hospital. By next morning he couldn't talk and by that night he couldn't move. Next day he died. Then when his wife posted his story on Facebook they deactivated her account and banned her. No matter what platform she was shutdown and attacked. Last time I talked to her she was fighting insurance.
