@mpjgregoire EVs haven't really upended the market, so Chinese EVs are unlikely to do much more than upend the US EV market, which is entirely made with Chinese parts and materials, often in China... so?

@jeremiah According to the article, BYD will sell more EVs in 2023. So yes, Tesla is in China, but it's not the most important player.

@mpjgregoire but Tesla has name advantage here, labor cost advantage there. " " " Japanese manufacturers.I would think their "market takeover" would be more likely achieved by the outsourcing of manufacturing to them / badge engineering their products for domestic sale by established manufacturers, as Ford and Apple have done with their Asian sources for decades.

@jeremiah I don't think Tesla's going away. I do think a P/E ratio of over 50 is very high for a car manufacturer, even one with high margins and a high growth rate. Greater competition would tend to bring their valuation down.
