Did you know that we could collapse the ocean currents with global warming?

With a terrifying consequence. The failure of deep ocean cycling would collapse the oxygenation process, which would trigger deep water bacteria to toggle their metabolisms (to sulphur-based, if I recall correctly) resulting in the production of toxic gasses. Not just the death of an entire food chain. But that, too.We let it go that far, the ocean will actively punish us. By wiping us out.@jacobrogers256 @sentient_water

@alice @jacobrogers256 @sentient_water Correct. The Earth is a macro organism that will do what it needs in order to protect itself from infection (read HUMANS).

I often see the problem described poorly.Without precision of language. We aren’t killing the planet.A multi-zettaton ball of rock can not die. We’re making the planet inhospitable to our form of life; certainly with the casualties of bystanders (all other high-order animal life) along the way.But it’s still a… self-centred concept, in some kind of paradoxical way. We need to stop committing suicide.@MelodyCooper @jacobrogers256 @sentient_water

@alice @MelodyCooper @jacobrogers256 @sentient_water The planet itself will be just fine, at least until our sun expands into a red giant. Nature, in the form of life on Earth, will continue with or without humans (most likely without), at least until our sun expands into a red giant. I'd love to see modern humans (most notably our "leaders") exhibit more consideration for non-human animal and plant species, but that might be asking too much.

@breadandcircuses @alice @MelodyCooper @jacobrogers256 @sentient_water think ugo bardi had a cartoon on gaia earth talking to a human about how she would be just fine without humans than called for their own extintion all by themselves ...i think right around that time facebook or google banned his blog and he went back to old ones ...the godly usury complex is very resentful ...🤣
