I am so so tired of the whole "AI" thing. Everything out of that space is so bland and milquetoast.Web3/crypto was at least batshit insane. "AI" is just corporate fan fiction (and not the fun horny one)

@tante Instead of getting to celebrate improved productivity (because it means we have more time to be human) we have to fear it because capitalism just ends up funneling more of it to the already rich :-/

@tante Yeah you're right I guess. The problem right now, is that AI is mainly used and developed for industry. Which makes it boring indeed. Just remember that it doesn't have to be this way.

@tante the question is “what is it for, this endless drive for productivity?” We have more stuff in the west than we’ll ever need. It feels like capitalism is an AI that’s overfitting for one goal and ignoring all the rest

@tante I’m a copywriter. I’ve played with ChatGPT and have had generative “AI” products demo’d for me. I’m still faster and better. My work has emotion and humor. It has less bias. With ChatGPT, I’m both telling the machine what to do and editing its work. I find myself feeling like John Henry — but the machine designed to replace me is a steaming pile of shit. I’m gonna die with my hammer in my hand, oh lord.
