       @detritus But what does it have to do with surveillance? It is just about selling message hosting to the police as in the police has a Matrix server they can send messages on. Nobody is implementing backdoors or giving the police access to your messages. Or does anyone have any source for this being anything different than Element providing Matrix support for Mozilla, the french government, etc?Now you can argue about if the police should have encrypted messages, but that is not surveillance.
