You say mental health is the problem, but not guns. “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” OK, but why should guns be easy to access? If I were a gun owner, I’d be mad that these mass shooters are making me look bad. Someone explain it to me.

@therobburgessshow I try to reframe it as, "...People who shouldn't have guns kill people."Even ardent gun nuts I've spoken with can't really disagree with that. Once you've established that there really are some people who shouldn't have access to guns (not just the mentally ill, but young children, people with a history of violence, etc), it's remarkable how quickly people come around to some form of common sense gun control

@crswa @therobburgessshow as a gun owner (not a nut) I wholeheartedly agree. I’m for sensible gun control and access to them, as gun violence mounts and Republicans make it more and more easy for anyone to get their hands on them I get more pissed at the founders for sticking that amendment in. Yes, I know it’s been misinterpreted but they will continue to site it as justification for doing nothing.

But that's not really true.The ones I consider nuts are people who actively look for, and even fantasize about, opportunities to legally kill someone. You know the type: People who joke about WANTING someone to try and rob their house, HOPING someone says, "Gimme your money." This is the mental illness we're really talking about

@crswa @jag0325 @therobburgessshow I'm a gun owner and I completely oppose any form of gun control.That being said, people like the ones you're describing are generally individuals who have a sanitized view of violence based on an inflated sense of their own superiority. They're not looking for a fight, not really, they're looking for a victim.When their bluff runs up against reality you get this face 😆 This fudd showed up to intimidate a drag show and ran into the antifascists in black in the other picture.
