I'm trying to install #Proton Bridge on a fresh #Kubuntu install, and keep running into this problem. Any hints out there?

@killyourfm a lot of projects assume gnome-keyring because of encryption format differences AFAIK, also GNOME is the default on every mainline distro outhere.

@killyourfm @protonmail maybe its time for some neutral-keyring package because it's not the first time that an app/service relays in a gnome centric package that is not installed by default in other environments.

@killyourfm @protonmail I had the same issue and solved it by installing pass via the terminal.

@verdeginnrow @protonmail Oddly, apt couldn't find that package. But I was able to solve it by installing gnome-keyring.

@killyourfm @protonmail it worked on Fedora 37 using Gnome.I believe the problem is the compatibility with KDE specifically.

@killyourfm @protonmail I'm on Nobara technically, but still Fedora with some tweaks. Idea to test for energy consumption, Fedora Vs Nobara, just throwing it in the ideas board, because why not

@killyourfm I love Proton's support on Linux. I use it through the browser. What email application do you use?

@killyourfm @thunderbird Ah, duh! I was using Thunderbird a while back. I stopped honestly due to the UI, BUT the new changes are very exciting and I keep testing with a secondary email of mine. I'm not too far from going back to Thunderbird, honestly!

@micahbp @thunderbird We hear that reason frequently, and I don't blame you! But I do hope Supernova makes you come back -- or at least check it out again.
