       @lauren weird question, but is the cat picture stored on the Mastodon instance's backend for each post, or does it have a matching hash that deduplicates it?Or... are you sneaking steganography into it and I have to echo the file in ROT13 to read the secret message?(beautiful cat, BTW)

       @DarcMoughty Thanks. The camera loves Leela, and she knows it. As you may know, I use those photos to prevent the sending of "random" photos from target pages mentioned in links, since Mastodon (like Twitter) provides no other mechanism for this. I really don't know how the various instances and clients store the Leela photos (but I have minimized their size to the extent possible without major image degradation).
