The pharmacy didn’t have the 10mg pills in stock, didn’t know when they’d get them, and couldn’t locate them anywhere else locally.Turns out they *did* have 5mg pills in stock. I called my doc, and he was happy to prescribe 5mg x2 instead of 10mg x1. The pharmacy let it be known that they found this a bit annoying, but hey. I got my prescription.

@tek do they do it by size of pill? I would have figured they'd prescribe by dose and the pharmacist could make it happen however.That seems so weird that it required a separate call.

@flabberghaster They do, and they were resistant to the idea of doubling up. “But you’ll run out twice as fast!” Well, maybe, but perhaps they’ll have the full dose in stock by then.

@tek this sounds like my ADHD meds. They didn't have the extended release once-a-day dose (yay meds shortages!) so my doctor sent in for the twice-a-day med with double the pills.I mean sure, I struggle to consistently take the one morning dose so the 'afternoon' dose was destined to be a failure, but I certainly tried! 😂

@hmhackmaster Nailed it.I haven’t tried the extended release version, but I’ve had good luck with setting and following timed reminders.

@tek my morning dose is timed with my first standup of the day. Which means on weekends I usually am not awake for the reminder and don't sit at my desk first thing, so I don't see my visual reminder either.Now if could only remember to start the refill process ahead of time 🤣

@hmhackmaster I’m not a stickler about the exact times. What works for me is taking it with other vitamins after I brush my teeth. Then I set a time for 4 hours later.I totally get it. Uh, if it were easy for me to remember to take these, I probably wouldn’t need them in the first place. 😀
