       From a "profile" of a new website I won't name that reads more like a regurgitated press release:Q: "You're not going to pay writers, they'll just have tip jars."A: "Right, we're not even paying ourselves. I think we're both looking for day jobs at the moment, as it so happens, so if you hear anything either of us might be a good fit for, please let us know."This almost reads like satire.If a guy like me can ALWAYS find a way to pay his talent, which I did on a timely basis even when I was in dire financial straits, then anybody can.Don't start a website unless you can pay your contributors. Repeat: If you cannot afford to pay your talent, you can't afford to run your website.It's really that simple. And the shamelessly gauche manner -- timed tackily close to the WGA strike -- in which one of the editors begs for a job in a puff piece? Why on earth do you media people take this mercenary (and largely talentless) narcissist seriously? #pay #talent #shameless
