       I lost 500-600 followers here recently and while I don’t care, I am wondering if I missed some big drama, like an instance getting blocked or people hating my employer or my country or, uh, me. (I was busy and away, not posting, so it is odd.) Just wondering.

       @palafo You're on a @stux instance with moderators @caranmegil and @calculsoberic . Maybe they could help solve the puzzle. Maybe an instance somewhere shut down that had some of your followers. If you have a recent export maybe you could compare, then to now and isolate if it is a particular instance.

       @calculsoberic @paul @stux @caranmegil Thanks. I can't really tell what happened. It was a noticeably large number, since I don't pay much attention. I was around 7.1K followers, no real way to track them unless I follow back.

       @palafo I bet it was from the accidental newsie.social block. I wonder if you lost many there. If you were following any there, you were also disconnected. You might notice not seeing some of them that you followed, though. Several big name accounts.

       @calculsoberic @palafo I imagine it will take some time for Sidekiq and the other processes to catch up since you have so many users to process unless you folks have some kind of magic over there that does things quickly. I almost blocked my own domain due to nearly hitting the wrong button dealing with a nuisance report. Not sure how that would have worked out. ;)

       @calculsoberic @paul They're still gone. I have no idea if it had to do with newsie. I see followers from that instance. It's entirely possible it's random, just seemed like a big drop.
