       The most revealing aspect of the #hachyderm #fediblock drama has been the truly feudal nature of the fediverse / feudalverse. A world of conflict was occurring between admins/feudal lords mostly unknown to instance users/subjects … until defederations and admin resignations occur … at which point the users have to blindly work out what’s happened and how it affects them and which instances they’re now blind to.Just like monarchs declaring war against each other.@fediversenews

       @fediversenews In @nova ‘s resignation stream, this was the major critique she had of the fediverse: that communication across sub-culture boundaries is very poor and that such things easily become failure points for distributed systems. As a user trying to be a fan of this place beyond its broad principles … I’m frankly unimpressed and can’t help but wonder what will be thought of decentralisation in the future.I see arcs back toward Pareto-like centralisation.

       @maegul @fediversenews honestly the way this has played out has completely convinced me the fediverse isn't going to work out, at least for me. Everything about it just gives off IRC channel takeover vibes.
