Why does any Republican plan for anything always include paying for it by cutting assistance to the Americans who most need it? It's not even "share the burden.” It’s"all the burden is on the less well off."That’s the goal of the GOP, though. The very rich must get richer, and the rest must pay for it. The culture wars are their distraction.Kevin McCarthy is steering a clown car right into a debt crisis-https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/debt-ceiling-kevin-mccarthy-vote-rcna80950

@TonyStark I really hope he doesn’t go down in history as being the one who completely decimates our economy. This kind of behavior by the #GOP just proves to me how spitefulness and stupidity are a toxic combination.

@Porpentina2017 He doesn't measure success the same way we are. He was so desperate for the chair he sold his soul and now has no currency to bargain with. The endless growth cycles, the massive wealth redistribution, the grifting and corruption are all working to layer in toxic behavoirs. We'll "catch" one of them as they move too far out, but that just tells them what they need to further erode. Which is exactly what they have been doing the last decade or so.They need to be rejected hard, frequently, and made to own their filth. McCarthy is feckless and dangerous and should be replaced.@TonyStark

@Porpentina2017 @TonyStark We've got to make sure we make it clear to everyone that it is the Republicans' fault for this budget crisis. They are the ones who have dug in their heels with their ridiculous stance.I'm seeing many MSM outlets that are putting the burden on Biden to compromise to stave off default. That's completely the wrong view and only serves to enable the R's.

@Sharonbw @Porpentina2017 @TonyStarkI mean whichever party is in control the other party is gonna do everything they can to block the other. They don't work for us. They work for their own self interests. Just like when Obama was trying to get the ACA passed the R's did everything they could to block it. Then when they got into power they did everything they could to dismantle it. It's just a back and forth of getting nothing done.

@Sharonbw @Porpentina2017 @KyloKenXA The ACA was getting something done and Democrats are pretty open to compromise so I’m not sure that’s a great comparison at all.

@TonyStark @Sharonbw @KyloKenXA Agreed Tony, I “lived” the 80s and I remember what happened. Turns my stomach that people are saying that those #Republicans were different. They weren’t, they just had more polite ways of hiding their racism/sexism/xenophobia etc.

@TonyStark Bingo!@KyloKenXA This language is harmful to the cause as it allows the Republican/GQP'ers to hide behind fault. When you build a system designed to rely on supports and those supports are removed - the system will properly fail. These steps aren't 'accidents' or mistakes from bad choices. These are Republican leaders lying to their populations, designing plans that do not have complete ideas, and then blaming Democratic leadership when it fails. They are using an obfuscation of facts based on bad-faith actors. Using rules, regulation, and confusion as weapons against the American people - they are misleading you.If you do not reject that entirely - you allow for the chaos and confusion to further divide the system.@Sharonbw @Porpentina2017

@mentallyalex @TonyStark @KyloKenXA @Sharonbw @Porpentina2017 It is entirely false to assert that Democrats oppose everything the Republicans have tried to do while they had control over our government.Democrats have tried to compromise on bills and voted for bills that they would have rather not have in order to get some policies implemented that they do support. The corporate campaign to increase voter apathy by convincing them that both sides are bad is the one we need to defeat the most.

@TonyStark Why? Because the Republican party wants to do away with all assistance to the poor and struggling. They'd bring back indentured servitude if they could. They are not interested in helping those in need, only themselves. #GOP creed: All for me, none for thee.

@TonyStark The GOP does have a policy position after all. It's called, "Let's just give more money to the rich.""Trickle-Down Economics" is one of the most blatant examples. It's clearly just about giving more money to the rich, yet they were still able to sell it to voters.

@Sharonbw @Porpentina2017 @TonyStark Historically, a debt ceiling raise is a slam dunk. A formality. Extorting it only does damage - especially when the extortionists (i.e. GOP) are extremists.

@Sharonbw I wanted to talk about this point in particular.> We've got to make sure we make it clear to everyone that it is the Republicans' fault for this budget crisis. There is no easier way to say it. This exactly. They have chosen this path and they are responsible for whatever happens good or bad. We as society need to maintain the right optics. If the Republicans want to play around with lives and risk America on a global stage, that is a decision they apparently feel they can make.We should take them at their words. If they prove to be treasonous fascists we need to remove them from office and protect our country.@Porpentina2017 @TonyStark

@TonyStark @Porpentina2017 this country has Political Paralysis. That age old adage "divide and conquer" is the glory flag of the republican cult.Media has massaged and enhanced Americans with their blind, greedy biases and helped politically motivated despots lord over freedoms and rights. We need Massive congregating in order to save Democracy. @TonyStark I still am not getting past the fact that McCarthy is demanding cuts which will have a painful impact over at least a decade and is only offering, at best, ONE year's respite on the debt ceiling.Even if the cuts weren't going to hurt people who are already vulnerable and can't afford to lose what support we have, that's just - he's not even pretending to bargain in good faith.

@ArenaCops @Shachihoko @TonyStark I agree, and when I think of the time, money and corruption it took to put these soulless people in office I wonder if it is truly reversible. The international billionaire class has been a puppeteer and parasite on our country for decades, their tentacles intruding on all aspects of life. Their years long seek and find for the worst of us has reached a tipping point and our masses are distracted and apathetic.
