I keep seeing posts that try to be clever with getting around triggering or semi-triggering words — most common example: birdsite instead of Twitter.Can we stop that? You’re making it harder for people that want to avoid the topic to actually do so. Calling a thing something else isn’t going to help, instead you’re just making life more difficult for people that want to avoid these topics.Call things by their proper name so people that want to avoid the topic can filter it properly.

The less clever you are, the better! Make people’s lives easier. Say the word you think is so triggering. The people that are actually triggered have a filter already. The ones that haven’t filtered it either don’t mind seeing it or haven’t filtered it yet.

@reykjalin We've called it birdsite for at least three years, it's here to stay. I can suggest you just add that to your filter as a synonym...
