@Eidon@raru.re i heard that you need to pay for a floor in an apartment in the netherlands... i never heard of that situation in japan (unless you want to renovate itetc.)

@mametsuko yes this is some sort of weird thing landlords these days want, when you move out, you gotta strip everything out so that the next tenant then has to spend 5000 to 10000 euro fucking renovating the place. It makes no sense and I'm sure this is a retarded scheme they are pulling.Fuck landlords. They should all be guillotined. Vive l'anarchie.

@grillchen @mametsuko @Eidon wait... You're sure? I remember that the landlord cannot force you to pay for the usual wear and tear of the existing floor. But I don't think that there has to be one. If it's just pure concrete, you have to bring your own (and obviously keep it when moving out. You don't have to just give it to the landlord). A quick Google doesn't show anything to the contrary.

@namenlos @mametsuko @Eidon once got lawyer advice because of this. the lowest level has to be "usable". though concrete might be usable. just in my case it was a half painted wooden floor. the wood would get destroyed by normal use without any paint, and without grinding it down i cant oil it.

@grillchen @mametsuko @Eidon ah ok, that does sound reasonable. I've had flats with this vinyl type flooring that's ugly und uncomfortable as hell, but probably counts as reasonable. Hence why I always brought my own flooring. Can't remember if I ever had anything with just concrete.

@Froggo @mametsuko Dutch apartments come fully unfurnished. Usually means no carpet or even curtains. You may be able to take over the old ones of the previous tenant. But most people want to put in their own anyway as people tend to stick to their rental place for a long time.Upside, you are allowed to do a lot of redecorating in general on rental apartments.

@mametsuko@mk.absturztau.be same for some german apartments! you have to pay for it yourself and if your lucky the next tenant will pay you back, but they don't have to. even more stupid than not having a kitchen.
