The new #KDE spectacle tool seems to have the same functions as Flameshot, what it means I can replace it, saving some disk space 👍👍 #Linux

@omartwotone Yes but #flameshot runs from #SystemTray, whereas annoyingly #spectacle still does not have this basic ability to minimise to ST. Better than both, coz not only for ST minimisation but also delightfully being tabbed [ie, multiple pics available simultaneously] is #ksnip. Works perfectly in #x11, sadly only partly in #wayland [no rectangular area].

@dropbear42 yeah, but to me the ST is compensated with a shortcut, Super + Shift + Impr :)

@omartwotone Oh?1. what is `Impr`?2. what does the shortcut then actually do; surely not minimise to tray?

@dropbear42 1. impr is a key that means print2. the shorcut doesn't minimize to ST, just launch directly a rectangular capture or other custom capture (full screen, active window, window under cursor, etc), so is the same like to click the icon in the ST

@omartwotone There's two types of penguiners; keyboarders & mousers 😀 It seems you're the former, whereas i'm the latter. So, fwiw, instead of using a kb shortcut like you, when i want to use #spectacle instead of either #flameshot or #ksnip, i left-click my Spectacle icon on my custom secondary Plasma launcher panel, which then launches S immediately in #RectangularArea capture mode [my most commonly-used one]. So, it seems like we both get there, from different directions, heehee.
