I'm imagining a micro-blogging UX where if I realize I need more than X chars to explain my point, I can click a button to export my draft to my chosen blogging platform. Once I've finished my blog piece, clicking to publish it will automatically take me back to my micro-blogging app, where the draft has been replaced with a link to the blog piece. Having full worked out the points I want to make, I can then write a TL;DR above the link, and post them.#fediverse #UX

@eowynMaybe an integration between two apps? I wonder if the client-to-server part of the ActivityPub spec would be useful for this?

@strypey Would having a backup account on a high #CharacterLimit server count as an interim solution? There are a handful with a limit of 100,000 characters or more. You'd post on the long-message instance, then reply or boost from your main server.https://mastodon.help/instances/?minc=100000

@bok> Would having a backup account on a high character limit server count as an interim solution?I have an account on a Friendica server, which has no character limit. But what I'm really getting at in the OP is a UI solution that reduces the friction of moving between the short-form and long-form apps.
