I got the in-5r in today. My earlier guess based on pictures that it was significantly less sturdy than the radioddity ga510 I also just got was confirmed, you can feel that it’s built worse.I also got a Nagoya 771 in. Tested it against some VHF repeaters near by. Stock “ducky” was not clear and had quite a bit of static, the 771 came in near crystal clear, very nice. May get a 771-g as well. Eventually even a signal stick.

@Clambino “the other way” as in the baofeng would be better than the radioddity? Have to say no to that, the ga510 is better plastic shell, better switches, and better fit/finish based on what I see, and I don’t suspect the it would change between build dates.

@Clambino the baofeng I read does that, the ga510 is fairly new I haven’t seen tests on that. It is fcc certified in the ham bands .
