The uncaring Tories have happily let waiting lists rise, left patients to suffer &, in a heartbreaking number of cases, die. They're manipulating our distress to cripple the NHS.Unless they're stopped, they'll kill the NHS & exploit our illnesses to make themselves wealthier.#SaveOurNHS#NeverVoteConservative

@UKnoGum The Scottish NHS and nurses reached a pay deal in...February. Rather than build on that to bring a quick end to strikes, Tories refused meetings and offered far lower wages. #SaveTheNHS #NHSOrToriesPickOne

@TCatInRealityA Government with a conscience would seek a swift resolution to the strikes. They'd want to reward staff that work extra hours to cover staff shortages, the same staff that risked their health to work largely unprotected during the pandemic, because they are the people caring for the sick & nursing the dying.Instead, they deepen the crisis to undermine the NHS to con people into giving away their free healthcare so Tories can enrich themselves with our suffering.#SaveOurNHS

@TCatInReality If Tories can convince people the NHS can't cope or has failed them, there will be enough gullible people who will swallow the lie, ignore the fact it's Tories that deliberately destroyed the service & it's all a huge con so wealthy Tories can enrich Tory donors with an everlasting cash-cow that they'll use to milk the sick & elderly of their savings. It'll be a total downgrade, cost more, be restrictive & increase suffering... with absoloutely no way back to a free NHS.

@UKnoGum I don't understand people who are willing to pay more for private healthcare, but won't pay more for the #NHSPrivate healthcare always has a layer of profit. It will *always* cost more. #SaveTheNHS

@TCatInReality The cost difference between the NHS & private care is astronomical. On the NHS, for hospital care you only pay for prescriptions & if you have no money, even those are free. With private healthcare, you pay for everything, at full price, & if you have no money or no insurance (or it's an existing condition), tough, your treatment stops until you pay up.The financial difference can be a bill of £30,000+ in private medicine against zero personal cost in the NHS.#SaveOurNHS

@UKnoGum Sounds like you know the US healthcare system. It's all true. Worse, private healthcare has no motive to control costs or do preventative care. Do not let Tories destroy the #NHS#SaveTheNHS

@TCatInReality @UKnoGum for comparison in the US I had a sporting accident and had to be flown by helicopter to the hospital. Fortunately although my body was beat up, face seriously lacerated, and an eye nearly lost they ultimately only needed to give me some scans, stitch my face back together, and let me rest under observation for the night. The bill for under 24 hrs in hospital plus the helicopter ride (7 minutes) was just shy of $100,000. Luckily after insurance it was only $5,000.

@TCatInReality @UKnoGum and I've had worse. The record is $45,000 for an ambulance ride and 6 hours in hospital with 2 CT scans and a couple of x-rays. That hospital was subsequently investigated for extortion of patients and insurance. Fortunately for me that time I had even better insurance and my out of pocket was only $250. These are the things the UK has to look forward to. And that doesn't even include insurance death panels denying necessary treatment with alarming frequency.

@enmodo @TCatInReality Pleased you recovered from the accident. In the UK, because we've had the luxury of free NHS healthcare, what will be charged for by private medicine - & the cost - is beyond the experience of most.Private medicine charges for the food, the bed, the room, the nurse, every appointment, every tablet, every x-ray, the ambulance, the Dr (more for a consultant), the operation, anesthetic, bandages, aftercare... everything, & all at full price. No money, no care.#SaveOurNHS

@UKnoGum @enmodo @TCatInReality private medcine in the uk is also subsidised - when it goes wrong, an ambulance is called and off to the nearest NHS hospital for emergency treatmentDifficult, complicated, or longterm care just isnt offered - again the cost falls on the NHSThe price in the uk for 'private' operations doent reflect what will be charged when the tories and labour have collaberated with 'private healthcate' to wreck the NHS#nhs

@OliverNoble @enmodo @TCatInReality With the NHS, if the same health issue reoccurs, you're treated. It doesn't matter how many times you need care, it still costs you nothing. With private medicine, your insurance won't cover existing health problems, so you'll pay, in full, for every single reoccurance.& should you need medical equipment, such as a walking stick, crutches or catheters, you'll pay for them all.The ways they profit from your illness never ends.#SaveOurNHS
