This copied from a thread by a tedious #Starmer fan"" Picking fights with the Tories - giving them ammunition for any sort of political fight is poor electoral strategy at this point.""This is why there is no opposition in westminster to the tories dragging the overton window further and further to the extremeLabour will probably win the next election by default but will win poisoned ground and lost the argument for any changeMaybe that suits "centerists"#Starmer #labour #Socialist

@paul exactly, "Kier Strarmers Labour" Labour have a huge opportunity to simply point out the fucking obvious - tory policies have resulted in this shambles but they just wont say it Labour could utterly destroy the nonsense that private provision is better, that austerity makes the economy stronger, and that health and education are "unaffordable" but they wont"Starmers Labour" are complicit in the ongoing destruction and chaos that serves only the rich#Starmer #Labour #UKPol #Politics

@brosandprose @julieofthespirits @Adam_Cadmon1 could be lots of things, an attempt to fix impotence, an enlargement attempt, some kind of fetishWhenever anyone feels obliged to use the word CCP or communist (china isnt btw) when talking about china, their motivation is pretty clear

@FinalOverdrive @lauren unanimity in politics just reflects the narrow base of interests that politicians defer to - not overwhelming public supportCertainly thats the case in the UK, US politics may differ but both are two party systems (allegedly)

@schmaker @EU_Commission Its an easy mistake because It probably applies to almost everything now - sorry i misunderstoodI was just now looking at a device made by ring (automotive) - a "british" company - the safety data sheet is chinese - its either just rebadged or 100% chinese made under licenceChinese companies invest a far higher proportion of income into R&D (and have lower wages etc) so I cant see it changing either

@UKnoGum @enmodo @TCatInReality private medcine in the uk is also subsidised - when it goes wrong, an ambulance is called and off to the nearest NHS hospital for emergency treatmentDifficult, complicated, or longterm care just isnt offered - again the cost falls on the NHSThe price in the uk for 'private' operations doent reflect what will be charged when the tories and labour have collaberated with 'private healthcate' to wreck the NHS#nhs

@Radical_EgoCom This is Alex Smith. He died this year at age 26 because he couldn't afford insulin in America. He made $35,000 as a restaurant manager, and couldn't afford his $450 a month health insurance with a $7,600 out-of-pocket deductible. The insulin he needed for diabetes was $1,300 a month. When he turned 26 and was kicked off his mom's insurance, he started rationing his life-saving insulin. He died a month later. All this in the richest country in the world.

@Radical_EgoCom How much does it cost to manufacture insulin? One vial of insulin only costs between $2 and $10 to make, depending on the type, according to Verywell Healthhttps://marketrealist.com/healthcare/cost-to-manufacture-insulin/

@kentindell @nuthatch @danluu well i guess a car that wont move is probably safe...but its hardly a graceful failure if the fall back is just to break everythingIts also a piss-poor user experience
