       one of the joys of coming to america has been discovering fred rogers and getting to watch his show with my kid. i have never seen someone work so hard to be a good person.

       @crawshaw I grew up with the show and I have to say that I admire him more than just about any other historical figure I can think of.

       @crawshaw I grew up with the show (born in PIT, FWIW). The only mystery left is why he remained so committed to the GOP when they worked so hard to tear him down. My favorite bit of Mr. Rogers lore is that after receiving a letter from a blind girl who loved the show but worried about the fishes, he audibly noted that he was feeding them for every episode for the next 20 years.

       @crawshaw I wasn't into him as a kid. But now as ana adult I'm smitten his senate testimony makes me cry every time.
