I have an issue with my custom-built desktop PC where it won’t boot or even let me access the bios when external drives are connected. No, the drives don’t have a boot partition; they’re just data drives. Most PCs won’t try to boot off of a drive unless it has a boot partition, i.e., you formatted the drive and burned a Windows installation ISO to it. I thought it was boot order, but that couldn’t be it. Even if that was the issue, you would still be able to access the bios. Thoughts?

@dangero I have a computer that kernel panics if a USB stick is plugged in before it's finished booting. Computers are just broken, I think.
