       @grammargirl I love it that you call them 'sea stars' in the US – in the UK we call them 'starfish'. I think sea stars is nicer 😊

       @lisacordaro I've actually known them as "starfish" my whole life, but when I call them that on social media, people yell at me about it not being the real or accurate name.

       @grammargirl @lisacordaro Starfish is a colloquial term, like “buttercups” used for evening primrose where I come from. Some scientists may want to erase colloquialisms to be more accurate but I’m here to tell you…they aren’t stars, either! (Also I am a scientist, lol.)
