       I don't think I've watched Clerks in at least 5 years. Did a rewatch after getting home last night. I'm now awash in feelings because damn, I knew people like that. That whole movie is just peak NJ in 1994. Kevin Smith is a few years older than me. Gerard and Mikey Way of MCR did a podcast with him a long time ago (they're a few years younger than me) where they talked about NJ in this time period and it's just wild how I connect with all those folks on this shit.For better or worse (really a bit of both), it's a world that doesn't exist anymore. I doubt Clerks would get made now. I don't think the music scene around at the time would have happened now.I don't want to be old man yells at clouds or start sounding like my grandparents yet, but wow, there was some stuff back then that really made me who I am now. That stuff is only memories or trapped in amber in my Vertigo comics and in Kevin Smith movies. RIP the Route 1 Flea Market.At least the Quick Stop still lives on.
