Apart from one previous job with an active Facebook presence, I have never done anything towards mass engagement.I find it interesting that people with high-follower accounts say they get much more engagement here.I stopped engaging with that kind of Tw/FB/LI presence ages ago, because I never got any reaction or, if I did, of practically no value. Are people just talking about likes and shares, whichever terminology, or actual conversation?Or is it just the real people who came over here?

@mjjzf I think you need to define "mass engagement" If you were a brand or a celebrity, then I suppose x-million followers are important when negotiating higher rewards. If you were an insecure person, then X-thousands of followers might keep the demon at bay and give the impression you're loved.I have a core of about 15 people who engage on a regular basis. I'd far rather have a small amount of proper conversations than thousands of suck-up nodding donkey responses. 🤷‍♂️ #TwoPenneth

@dick_turpin I have done it with politicians, for instance, and business people. I am basically uncertain if by engagement they mean interest and coverage or actual conversation.

@mjjzf So those two demographics would argue that their popularity is gauged by the amount of followers and the activity on their account (Timeline); imagine an account that has 10 million followers and yet no comments or very few. Not exactly an endorsement of popularity. 🤷‍♂️
