       The weirdest thing happened today! I was riding in a pack of nine  when suddenly a pigeon was flying alongside us, matching our speed and about 2 feet from my head. I was just thinking "What a cool view!" when suddenly it veered and slammed into the side of my head. Its beak hit my helmet and its body smashed against my face, then it wobbled and flew down under a hole in a fence. I think it was injured. :( #cycling

       @shacker I've been wondering how often cyclists collide with animals. My wife hit a squirrel already, and we haven't been riding that much yet. There have been several near-misses.

       @shacker thus extending the list of games you shouldn't play with a pigeon from "chess" to "chess and cycling" 😅I had a (European) green woodpecker fly alongside me once or twice. That's spectacular bc they expose their red bits when flying. Fortunately they got their maths right when they wanted to head for the other side. I wouldn't fancy having an irate woodpecker attached to my head 😵
