I still love #Flickr dearly, but am slowly realizing that the #Glass app is really drawing quality photographers and a vibrant community who do more *commenting* than just *liking*. And am now realizing that their web version at glass.photo may be one of the best social photography experiences out there. Top notch.

Ooh, and it has intuitive keyboard shortcuts too. I just tapped the "A" key and it sent an Appreciation, just like "F" does to fave a Flickr photo. Nice. @glass is there a published list of keyboard shortcuts?

@shacker I have somewhat mixed feelings about investing time into a walled garden service at this point, but I absolutely have to give credit to the Glass folks for coming up with excellent UX for photographers (both their iOS app and the web). It really is top-notch.

@jeff Not sure I'd call it a walled garden - I can copy any URL on Glass into an incognito browser and it displays. Therefore it's on the public web, no login required.

@shacker Well, by that standard it’s equivalent to Instagram in its default configurationI guess what I mean is feeding content into a social service that could shut down, pivot to become something else entirely, or be replaced with awful management.Perhaps “proprietary” would be a better term.I think the Glass folks have the right product mindset for something like this, but a lot can change in a span of a few years.

@jeff Right, I wouldnt call Instagram a walled garden either (but most of Facebook is). But yes proprietary and I totally get your point about that. The creators of Glass are super aware of the toxicity of social media and are working very consciously to not be that. Power to ‘em!
